Some organizations using Candidly now have access to magic link authentication - a secure, password-free way to sign in. If your employer has enabled this feature, you can request a one-time login link directly to your email, allowing you to access your account without entering a password.
Note: Magic links are not available for all organizations. If you do not see the magic-link option on your sign-in page, your employer’s program may not support this login method.
đź’ˇ Tip: Magic links work for existing Candidly accounts only. New Candidly users will need to complete their initial signup first - please check your inbox for a Candidly invitation email with steps to activate your account.
What is a Magic Link?
A magic link is a secure, time-sensitive, one-time login link sent to your email address. When you click it, you are automatically signed in - no password required.
Magic links expire after 5 minutes and can only be used once.
How to sign in using a Magic Link
- Go to the Candidly login page.
- Select Magic link as your login option.
- Enter the email address or username associated with your Candidly account.
Check your inbox for an email from Candidly containing your one-time link.
- Click the Sign in with magic link button in the email.
- You’ll be instantly logged in.
If your link expires, simply request a new one from the login page.
Troubleshooting Magic Links
Magic links may fail for a few reasons. If you’re having trouble:
1. The link expired
Magic links expire after 5 minutes for security. Request a new link from the login page.
2. The email didn’t arrive
Try the following:
- Check spam/junk folders
- Search your inbox for “Candidly”
- Wait a couple of minutes (email delivery may take ~2 minutes but can vary)
- Ensure you entered the correct email on the login page
- Request a new link if nothing arrives within 5 minutes
3. The link was already used
Each link can only be used once. Go back to the login page and request a new magic link.
Additional steps that may help
- Clear your browser cache
- Try a different browser or device
- If using a corporate email address, check with your IT team in case of delivery delays or filtering
Using Magic Links with other sign-in methods
Depending on your organization, you may see multiple login options.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
If your employer requires SSO, magic links are separate and will not be available. Users should continue logging in through their SSO portal.
Email + password login
Magic links do not replace passwords - they’re simply another login choice.
- You can still log in with your email and password.
- Having a password doesn’t affect your ability to use magic links.
Google login
If your organization supports Google login, you’ll see the option to sign in using your Google account. This uses Google’s secure OAuth process and allows you to access Candidly without entering a password or using a magic link.
If both Google login and magic links are available to you, you can choose whichever method you prefer each time you sign in.
